lots of love, love is beautiful
by Hearts of Gold Collective
my childhood was filled with love
love is my daughter who i love so much
and that is good
to love one another and have special friendships like family
and to know we are all beautiful
to really believe it every day
is an act of resistance and insistence
demanding to be heard
for who we are as women and compassion
warriors
who will tell their own stories
who refuse to let another block our paths to greatness
creative space lets everyones inner self free
just like family

A joint initiative of the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy and the Richmond Office of Community Wealth Building, the program was launched in March 2018 and recognizes that the current Virginia minimum wage ($7.25) is woefully inadequate. Paying a living wage, which enables local employees to put food on the table and a roof over their heads, is a moral imperative.
Introduced by Virginia’s Representative Bobby Scott and Senator Tim Kaine: "Direct care workers provide daily assistance to millions of older Americans, people with disabilities, and others with chronic care needs. These workers are the backbone of the long-term care workforce and assist individuals with daily tasks by preparing meals, managing medications, providing transportation, and providing much needed relief for family caregivers. The direct care workforce is essential to ensuring older Americans and people with disabilities live with dignity and independence."
PHI works to ensure quality care for older adults and people with disabilities by creating quality jobs for direct care workers.
